Almost exactly 10 years ago, a series of unexpected events brought Kristen Leigh Wetherell and I together as both friends and writers, and we were given the undeserved and incredible opportunity to write and publish the best selling book, Hope When it Hurts. Neither of us could’ve imagined what God would do through that book, and we still pinch ourselves that we got to be a part of it.
Over the last 10 years, although we’ve remained close friends, God has taken us in several different directions in terms of writing opportunities, along with moving me and my family across the country.
Well, just like 10 years ago, God has orchestrated a similar series of events that has led Kristen and I back together again, united by a shared desire to write on a specific topic that’s been burning in each of us.
After a few months of back and forth with publishers, we are beyond grateful and excited for the opportunity to embark on this journey with Multnomah/Penguin Random House. For now we’re keeping the details under wraps, but I’m excited to share more in the months ahead.
Although we’re thrilled with the opportunity, we’re also painfully aware that we don’t have the wisdom we need within ourselves. And as my kid’s and I endure a very difficult health journey at the same time, the road ahead won’t be easy.
But I guess that’s the best place to be: dependent on God‘s provision for all of it. If you’re a praying person, we would greatly appreciate your prayers in the days ahead!
In the meantime, Kristen and I recently had the joy of discussing the process of writing and co-authoring on “The Writer’s Circle.” If you’ve ever been curious about the writing process or want to learn a bit more about the backstory to our writing journey, take a listen!
